Ashley Lister has been reporting on the recreational sex scene in the UK for many years. With this reporting he learned a lot about the scene, and has interviewed thousands of people involved. Female Confidential is a candid look at the female perspective of swinging. The book details what he’s learned, what kind of women he has encountered in the scene, and the many reasons why. He also goes in depth about many of the different aspects of swinging, such as public exhibitionism and BDSM. He includes some of the interviews he has conducted, and the reasons women swing may surprise you. Most of these women are shockingly candid, and down to earth. Some are just young college students seeking a good time, while others are middle aged conservative women in professional careers who want to be able to control yet another aspect of their lives.

The books Female Confidential is more of a collection of erotic stories as Ashley Lister uses a lot of stories that were shared by women, as well as scenes he has witnessed.

Those wanting to read a more biographical or psychological exposure on women in the swinging community may not enjoy this book. While the stories are from the womens perspective, it still focuses a lot on men as well. This isn’t saying it’s a bad book, it just may not be what many people are expecting. Men are very much a large part of the community, and the whole story wouldn’t be told if they weren’t also included.
